Readers respond to "Explosions bring sorrow, fear and soul-searching"

I've received a number of supportive e-mails and a couple of calls from readers, staff, and university associates following the publication of the article entitled "Explosions bring sorrow, fear and soul-searching" on July 8. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting such a heartwarming response. My sincerest thanks to everyone who took the time to write or call to offer their support. When the going gets tough, it's reassuring to know that there are friends out there in the public - friends who truly care.

The city editor told me today that there was a "tremendous response" to the piece. I'm not sure what that means in terms of numbers of letters to the editor received, but two letters were printed, one on Saturday and the other today.
